Water-Control Services

Different Devices Solve Different Water-System Problems

High pressure, unstable pressure, reverse-flow risk, a leaking assembly, a failed shutoff, and a damaged vacuum breaker are not interchangeable conditions. The correct scope depends on the property, device type, application, jurisdiction, water provider requirements, and the condition of the surrounding piping.

Water-Pressure Evaluation

Selected pressure checks and system observations to help identify abnormal conditions.

  • Static pressure
  • Operating-pressure observations
  • Pressure fluctuation concerns
  • Accessible system review

Pressure-Reducing Valves

Evaluation and selected replacement or installation of accessible PRVs.

  • Residential PRVs
  • Light-commercial applications
  • Pressure adjustment by scope
  • Upstream/downstream isolation

Backflow Assembly Replacement

Selected replacement or installation when device type, sizing, access, and authorization are confirmed.

  • PVB applications
  • Selected DC or RP assemblies
  • Unions and isolation valves
  • Freeze and support considerations

Vacuum Breakers & Anti-Siphon Devices

Selected protection at hose connections and applicable fixture or irrigation points.

  • Hose-bibb vacuum breakers
  • Anti-siphon components
  • Damaged-device replacement
  • Application review

Main Shutoffs & Control Valves

Accessible valves that support isolation, maintenance, and pressure-control work.

  • Full-port shutoffs
  • Device isolation valves
  • Unions and transitions
  • Irrigation tees by scope

Commercial & Project Support

Selected installation, repair, replacement, and coordination for larger or regulated applications.

  • Approved device schedules
  • Utility requirements
  • Shutdown coordination
  • Testing coordination

Pressure Control

High Water Pressure Can Affect the Entire Property

Excessive or unstable pressure may contribute to noisy piping, short fixture life, leaking supplies, damaged valves, nuisance relief-valve discharge, and repeated failures. A PRV is one possible component of the solution, but the system should be evaluated as a whole.

Measure: Document pressure conditions at appropriate accessible points.
Evaluate: Review PRV condition, shutoffs, piping, thermal expansion, and reported symptoms.
Define: Confirm device size, connection method, access, isolation, and scope boundaries.
Verify: Set and observe accessible pressure after authorized work.

Two Separate Functions

Pressure Regulation Is Not Backflow Prevention

Pressure-Reducing Valve

  • Reduces incoming water pressure
  • Helps maintain a selected downstream pressure
  • Does not substitute for a required backflow assembly
  • May require thermal-expansion considerations

Backflow-Prevention Device

  • Helps protect against unwanted reverse flow
  • Device type depends on hazard and application
  • May be regulated by a water provider or jurisdiction
  • Testing requirements vary by device and location

Service Process

From Symptoms and Requirements to a Defined Scope

1

Identify the Device

Review application, size, manufacturer, model, location, symptoms, and available records.

2

Confirm Requirements

Determine applicable utility, jurisdiction, testing, permit, access, and shutdown requirements.

3

Complete Authorized Work

Repair or replace selected piping, valves, PRV, or backflow components within the agreed scope.

4

Verify & Coordinate

Check accessible operation and coordinate required qualified testing or documentation when applicable.

Pressure & Backflow Questions

Important Information Before Scheduling

How do I know whether my pressure is too high?

A pressure measurement is the starting point. Symptoms alone are not conclusive, and pressure can vary with time, demand, supply conditions, and equipment operation.

Does replacing a PRV fix every pressure problem?

No. System pressure may also be affected by municipal supply, thermal expansion, closed-system conditions, shutoffs, pipe sizing, equipment, restrictions, or other components.

Can Oasis replace a backflow assembly?

Selected assemblies can be replaced or installed after the application, sizing, access, authorization, device requirements, and required follow-up testing are confirmed.

Does Oasis provide certified backflow testing?

Only when the assigned technician and Oasis hold every qualification, authorization, and registration required for that jurisdiction and application. Otherwise, we can define installation or repair scope and coordinate with an appropriately qualified tester.

Qualification and scope notice: Possessing test equipment does not by itself authorize certified backflow testing. Device selection, installation, repair, testing, reporting, permits, and water-provider requirements vary by application and jurisdiction. The proposal should identify exactly which services, certifications, inspections, and third-party coordination are included.

Protect the System

Concerned About Water Pressure or a Backflow Device?

Send the property location, symptoms, device photos, pipe size, manufacturer and model when visible, and any notice from the water provider or jurisdiction.
